Slippery Elm
Slippery Elm is a native tree found in North America. The bark has been used as a popular medicinal herb for centuries by the Native Americans. The inner part of Slippery Elm bark contains a large amount of mucilage that helps coat, sooth and heal gastrointestinal conditions.
Slippery Elm's natural dietary fibre aids in the cleansing of the bowel and may also soothe a sore throat, help to relieve the pain of colic, stomach ulcers, and relieve inflammatory bowel conditions. It is also known to help in reducing irritations such as irritable bowel or Crohn's-like attacks. This natural herb is an expectorant, meaning that it breaks up mucous stuck in the throat or bronchi causing you to cough it up.
